Dear All,
I am new to OpenFOAM. In my case, I need to analyze various design parameters for a sensible stratified heat storage tank, its medium being water with one inlet-outlet formation (i.e. there is an inlet velocity) (see the picture below) . If I understand correctly, I need to use the OpenFOAM solver "buoyantBoussinesqPimpleFoam" in order to have a transient solution for the buoyant, turbulent flow of incompressible fluids to mimic the temperature change through the storage unit in time. Correct me if I am wrong, please. Since I am a newbie, I need to base on a ready OpenFOAM tutorial. Which tutorial (from OpenFOAM tutorials, YouTube videos, blog page etc.) shall I base for my case? Would you please share? Kind Regards. Hakan |

Would you please check the attached OpenFOAM files as to simulate temperature transients of a stratified sensible heat storage tank?
I based on the OpenFoam tutorial "hotRoom" and made changes accordingly (I am newbie). But I have some weird results. |

For the simulation result that I expect you can see my first animation video via: YouTube Video
The animation is for the charging case of the sensible stratified heat storage tank (inlet velocity at 2 m/s from the top inlet). The medium temperature is at 25 °C at the initial condition while the top inlet has an inflow at the temperature of 55 °C. |
