Hi guys,

I am a newbie to openFoam. I am trying to simulate a flapping foil in 2D using the overset meshing.
The domain size is 30x10, and the foil is eclosed by moving grids of size 3x2. The BC is a freestream from left to right. The solver I'm using is overPimpleDyMFoam and the mesh kinematic is given by tabulated6DoFMotion. However, the solution is bit weird. The flow seems being confined in the moving grid only, and is not propagating into the background mesh. Please see the attached video.
Any comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi,

Probably a bit late, but might be useful for anyone else with the same problem.
I had the same thing occurring and found the problem.

In the dynamicMeshDict the dynamicFvMesh should be set to dynamicOversetFvMesh whereas I had it set to dynamicMotionSolverFvMesh.

HI,
From what I can see, flux correction iterations needs to be added in dynamicMeshDict and fvSolution files. Please let me know if you require help with the syntax!
Thanks
