I've been using openfoam for more than 2 years and tried an ambitious step.
I've based my case on tutorials\heatTransfer\chtMultiRegionTwoPhaseEuler Foam\solidQuenching2D case. But I have converted it to 3D with some additional points.


It's a roll mill quenching simulation using 1/4 of the geometry (+ tank). Until I was running it in still water, there were no problems. They arrised when I've started using a forced convection in the tank.


I've tried several approaches, but stick to "velocity" (mass volume flow rate) inlet + outlet. Means, all the mass that goes out, comes in again. That may be the source of the problem. I've used (for better stability) and time based table of mass flow rate until 5 seconds


I've compacted the whole case information and attached it to the post. May be useful also for others, looking for a similar situation. Sorry, I was unable to attach the zip file because it's larger than the allowed size. But request it to me and I will try to share it thru wetransfer or something like this.


The problem:
- after some seconds the tank starts to fill up completely until the water level reaches the top boundary condition.
