Hello everyone,
I am a junior engineer, I am currently working on OpenFOAM. I want to simulate the flow of water through a porous medium with a certain porosity and permeability. I am using the solver porousSimpleFoam, with the module Darcy Forchheimer to treat the porosity. Does anyone know how to deal if it is the right way or there is another solver? Have a good day |

I never used porousSimplefoam but I know a solver which deals with porous media called ihFoam but it's for multiphase flows, it's like interFoam but the porosity included.
If you want to use it you will have to compile it from here : https://ihfoam.ihcantabria.com/source-code/ it's in the download link in the line : The solver for two-phase flow within porous media by means of the VARANS equations (Download ) |
