Dear Foamers,
I want to simulate a fixed ship (JBC) with free surface, and wanted to try interIsoFoam (v2006). Before, I did some simulations using interFoam, now I did not change anything except the solver. The mesh was made with Pointwise and consists mainly of triangles/ tets. It has 8.5 million cells, which I distribute over 160 cores (on a cluster), with a y+ = 40...80. The checkMesh utility did not give any warnings. Now when I start the simulation, I do not get any errors/ warnings, also the results look reasonable, and only few iterations are done for pressure etc. However, each iteration takes ages...it needs around 30s for each. With my timestep being 0.0002s and a simulation time of 35s, this is not acceptable, especially as interIsoFoam is said to be faster than interFoam. Did I miss something regarding the application area of interIsoFoam? Do you have any idea what might be the reason? Attached you will find the boundary conditions (which worked fine with interFoam) and the system files. Thanks in advance! |
