Can somebody point me to an example case for a two phase simulation where both fluids have high apparent viscosities?
I have not been able to find an example case or tutorial with high fluid viscosities. I think this would be an interFoam or a multiphaseInterFoam example. Basic simulation: co-extrusion with two food streams being combined in a die assembly. In the simplest form, imagine a two color cereal piece. The two flows could have the same rheology. Flow properties for both materials will use the power law fluid model: k=3,000 Pa*sec^n n=0.4 Incompressible Laminar flow Inlet speed will be about 0.075 m/second for the simulation I am trying to run. Geometry: 20 mm diameter inlet, with one fluid flowing on one half, the second fluid flowing in on the other half 6 mm diameter outlet The connection between the inlet and the outlet is a cone 20 mm in length I have been trying to modify the interFoam tutorials, but the simulation fails. This seems to be due both to the very viscous fluids and the very low speeds of flow. While I have used simpleFoam over the years, that is the extent of my OpenFOAM experience. I would like to be able to simulate co-extrusion, but am not finding example cases I can modify. Any help or suggestions are appreciated, Wesley |
