Hey Foamers,
I am working with a modified version of compressibleInterFoam. In the context of simulating the filling process of injection molding I want to detect the possible occurance of welding lines due to the collision of two flow fronts. Therefore I need to: determine the flow fronts (interface tracking) based on VoF (interface capturing...) and detect collisions of determined flow fronts. Ideally get the angle between the collding fronts. I already searched this forum if there are already solutions in how to detect this collision using VoF. Ideal output would be the set of elements at the location of the collided flow fronts. In this context I found the following paper: https://caoliu0909.github.io/pdf/201...%20process.pdf Is somone familiar with this topic or has any different advice what would be an elegant way to achieve this objective with interFOAM? The ideal solution would also be the angle between these flow fronts to evaluate a possible healing of the weld / melt line. I am working with openFOAM 1812 I realy appreciate your input!!!!!!! I am still stuck on this problem... I searched the web and this forum multiple times with no success... There must be a way to get the current postion of the interface as well as the velocities of the corresponding elements?
I found this thread but I have no idea how to get the velocity vectors... As well the detection of colliding interface (between to subflows) is limited to the writeInterval.... get position of interface and store it |
