What is the difference between interFoam on OpenFOAM v1812 and OpenFOAM 6.0? I am getting very different results on a simulation. Specifically, it's a zero gravity surface tension dominated flow. Is there an innate difference between these solvers in how surface tension is handled?

Which solver are you using within each version? interFoam-based or Eulerian?
In ESI-OpenFOAM (you have v1812) there is a solver called interIsoFoam which captures sharp interfaces between phases much better than its MULES-based counterparts (e.g. interFoam). This might be what you are after, although there are also some issues with modelling surface tension in general in OpenFOAM that have not yet been resolved. https://develop.openfoam.com/Develop.../-/issues/2052 |
