How to find all possible options for a parameter?

I am beginner to openFoam. When I learned the tutorial examples, a question bothers me a lot. There are lots of settings in openFoam. Since openFoam is open sourced, documentation may lack details to explain some functions and parameters.
For example, like startFrom in controlDict has different options, startTime, andlatestTime. Sometimes, if I used "banana" method (put a nonsense keyword there), it can throw an error and help me list all possible options. But banana method does not work for all cases. Moreover, even foamInfo and tutorial files do not covers all possible options and functions. When I used diameterModels, I find it is difficult for me to find all options and how to use them. I may need to generate solid phases with different diameters. Besides reading source files to understand all options and functions, is there any suggesions for beginners like me? Thank you very much for your advice! Last edited by Devin063; June 15, 2021 at 22:12. Reason: compensate information |
