Hello, it is my first post, I hope that I have respected the forum rules, if it doesn't, I apologize. I try to be concise to explain my problem: Study-case: Lagrangian Particle Tracking in a conduit. Particles phase: solid. Flow type: steady-state incompressible flow. Study workflow: snappyHexMesh ----> simpleFoam ----> icoUncoupledKinematicParcelFoam. Problem: mismatch between '' Current number of parcels '' and '' parcels added ''. A certain number of particles disappears after the injection into the frozen steady-state flow but none of these leave the outlet (see attachment img1). I believe that the problem is numerical, not physical, also because I have reliable data for both flow conditions and particles. Attempts to solve: 1. modification of the time step size (increased/decreased); 2. modification of mesh refinement; 3. positive setting of minTet; 4. parallel computing disabled; 5. modification of the SOI, '' duration '' and '' flowRateprofile ''; 6. modification of the particle diameter; 7. modification of the interaction distance; None of these attempts have solved the problem. I attach the output file (icoUncoupledKinematicParcelFoam) and the controlDict and kinematicCloudProperties dictionaries of the case study and I would like to ask your opinion because it is the first time that I use the Lagrangian, and I don’t know if it's a bug or if I am missing something. |
