Hello,
I am new to OpenFoam. I have worked on IC engine simulations in the past using StarCD and I would like to perform these simulations in OpenFoam. Since I am coming from commercial software, where everything is nicely combined into one package and it's almost "plug and play" i have some questions regarding OpenFoam's IC engine capabilities. My questions are: 1. With the latest version of OpenFoam-8, there seems to be the ability to run IC engine simulations. From my research, it looks like there has been a lot of work done in the past for IC engines in OpenFoam, have all those features been applied to the latest version? Or do you have to go back to older versions? I simply want to run 4 stroke and 2 stroke engines (gasoline/petrol)... 2. I've noticed, again through my searching; that there is a tool called "LibEngine" for automatic mesh generation for IC engines, is this required in order to run IC engine simulation in OpenFoam? Thanks to anybody who answers, i would like to get some idea so that I don't waste time trying to build a model and then realize that it can't do this type of simulation without modifying the code or needing extra inputs.
