Dear Friends,
I am new to Open Foam so my question can be naive yet I would really appreciate if somebody explains me how do I specify phase transition point for thermophysical models of different phases. Say I have copper wire submerged into water. Electric current through the wire heats it which results in its melting and thermal expansion. Due to the thermal expansion the wire pushes surrounding water away. As far as I understand I need to use compressibleMultiphaseInterFoam solver because I have three phases - water, solid copper and liquid copper. I understand that I need to specify isochoric heat capacity if I use internal energy conservation equation and isobaric heat capacity if I use enthalpy conservation equation. I also specify heat fusion in thermophysical model of each phase but I do not understand how do I specify point of transition of solid copper to liquid copper.
Thank you very much!
Maksim
