Good day everyone! It is my first post of I hope many, since I hope to be an active member in these forums from hereon!

I am a graduate student working in the Large Eddy Simulation of a Wave Energy Converter. Currently I am preparing the 2-D simulation with k-epsilon turbulence model. The rotor (consisting of 3 hydrofoils) is driven by the flow, so it uses the 6DoF dynamic mesh solver for its motion. It calculates the angular velocity but I am wondering if there is any way to solve for the torque of the rotor since I have not been able to find much online?

I have attached a gif of the current simulation for visual reference. If anybody could help I would greatly appreciate it!

Hi,

You can just use the forces functionObject.

It will also output moments, so you should look at the Z-component of the moments for your torque.

Cheers,
Tom
