VLima is on a distinguished road
I had a simulation running on a shared cluster, results were being written/output and when it reached a certain time step, the process was suddenly killed in the instruction concerning the snappyHexMesh:

Code:
snappyHexMesh -overwrite > snappyHexMesh.log
as it strangely stepped back in the simulation.

This was the complete error message I got:

Code:
runCasePiston_alltime: line 13: 34820 Killed snappyHexMesh -ov$

[demec03][[11190,1],31][btl_openib_proc.c:157:mca_btl_openib_proc_create] [btl_$
slurmstepd: error: Detected 1 oom-kill event(s) in step 149267.batch cgroup. So$
and then I noticed that (I suppose that as a consequence of this error) the snappyHexMesh.log was deleted from the simulation folder (log file that was previously there).

I was wondering of anyone has ever experienced such a thing and maybe found some reasons for this to happen.

Openmpi is used ( mpi/openmpi-x86_64 ).

Any ideas or feedback are most welcome.

Many thanks in advance!
