Is it possible to run 'reactingParcelFilmFoam' different way?

I'm modifying 'rivulatePanel' case under 'reactingParcelFilmFoam' as per my requirements.
As per the original case, the first step is to modify the geometry/mesh, generate the thin layer as extrusion for wall boundary patch field. Then simulate the case. I'm thinking of no modification of my geometry/mesh and simulate the case although I will generate the topoSet for the wall film region but won't extrude the mesh, and generate the reaction based thin layer on the desired wall patch fields. Is it possible to do that? |

Anyone, essentially I'm thinking that instead of making that separate patch of geometry, why not to simulate the entire geometry, while the rivulet flow like structure is being generated over period of simulation on walls.
