Hi, fellow Foamers, I'm new to openfoam and was wondering if I can use OverpimpleDyMFoam and 6 DOF rigid body motion library at the same time.

So, what I would like to do is to make an airfoil with torsional and heaving stiffness to run a time domain flutter analysis.

I was able to run overpimpledymfoam with mesh generated from fluent and couple it with prescribed motion using multiSolidBodyMotionSolver. But as I see it, SixDOFRigidBodyMotion solver requires "inner distance" and "outer distance" which deformes the mesh itself.

In order not to deform mesh topology (using overset mesh) and run sixDOFRigidBodyMotion, what should I do?

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

Yes it is possible, have a look at the dynamicMeshDict of the floatingBody tutorial in overInterDyMFoam.

Cheers,
Yann
