Initial Conditions to have pipe filled

I am using interFoam to predict the flow rate and time to drain out oil from a pipeline due to a rupture (may be modeled as an orifice). This is an incompressible flow but needs to be solved by first starting with the pipeline completely filled. Once a rupture occurs in the pipeline, the pump will be shut off. I am looking to predict the flow rate and the time to drain the liquids in the pipeline. The pipeline will also have variations in elevations that follow the terrain.
How would I set the initial conditions to have the pipeline filled with oil/liquid? There should be no incoming flow at t=0. At the initial time, the pipeline is filled completely (pressure = 1480 psig) and then see how long it will take to drain out due to the pipeline inclination (due to terrain)? I am not sure how to setup the initial condition "0" to satisfy this with the interFoam solver. Thanks for your help! |
