Hello there,
i'm still trying to get my simulation of a Hydrofoil that's partially submerged to work. I'm slowly getting closer to a workable Mesh but i'm having trouble getting everything to converge. The region around the wing is pretty good for the most part and behaves like expected for the most part. However the far back of my Domain is very chaotic to the point where no real life phenomenon would explain it. That chaos becomes more pronounced with more time steps and propagates forward where it starts to affect the area around the wing. I don't have a clue what could be causing it. The Domain is pretty damn big (156 meters long, 48 meters wide and deep) for a wing that isn't wider than a meter. So i would think reflecting waves are out especially since the area between the wing and the chaos is pretty damn smooth the first few thousand time steps. My boundary conditions are the same as those of a colleague of mine who doesn't experience this issue. Only difference is that his body moves at about 5m/s and mine does at 12.5m/s. In the attachments is a picture of the water surface with U overlayed on it: The blue circle marks the position of the wing. If anyone has any pointers what else i could try i'd be very grateful. Let me know if i should paste any files from the case i don't want to overcrowd the the thread. Thanks in advance! |
