Hi all!
I am new to OpenFOAM and currently running some cases related to free heaving with overset grid. In the tutorials of overInterDyMFoam, there is a floatingBody case. In order to understand the free heaving problem, I remove the extra water in this floatingBody tutorial. 1. The water level is set at the center of the mass of the object. 2. The density of the object is equal to 500kg/m^3. Theoretically, the object won't move too much, but the result I simulated is different (Shown down below), it will move up and down and the amplitude will become greater as time goes by. Finally, it will flip. Has anybody an idea where the problem can be or encounter before? Many thanks in advance! Best wishes, Jacob |
