Dear all,

I have been trying to simulate flow inside a cylindrical tank but I cannot get the simulation to converge. I'm fairly new to the whole process and I would like some tips on where to go next. The fluid in the tank is air, which enters through several points at the bottom of the tank. The tank is about 1,6 meters in diameter and 20 meters in height. A geometry of the model, and the mesh I created are included.

The case does run if I try it with laminar settings, but due to the high Reynolds numbers, turbulence seems realistic.

I'm lost as to what to try next, I tried settings from a similar tutorial from pimpleFoam to see which discretization schemes to use. I initially though my mesh was at fault, but it seems quite alright if I check it with checkMesh and compare it to several sources online. Did I make a mistake in my settings, or is it still the mesh that is at fault?

edit: I accidentally already posted this while i was not done with adding attachments, coming soon.

Hi!

You are using hell stable schemes so it should be ok. (not ok but at least should converge)
Can you share your log? Or paste only the last ~50 lines from your log? Your timesteps are converging? Try more nOuterCorrector-s not just 2.
Your logs can tell a lot.

Hi, thanks for your response! Sorry for the late answer, I had other duties during the weekend. i've attached my log to this post. It doesn't take very long for the simulation to chrash, as my courrant number blows up.

I hope this makes my problem clearer for you.
