Hello Foamers,

As is shown in the source code of the k epsilon model in openfoam (/src/TurbulenceModels/turbulenceModels/RAS/kEpsilon), there is a C3 coefficient implemented. In the Description section in the .H file, it is said that C3 has a default value of -0.33, but based on the constructor in the .C file, C3 is always initialized to be 0 if no such value is provided by the user. Which statement is correct?

Thanks,

Ruiyan

C3 is used for compressible floss. See k-Epsilon model - C3

Hi Michael,

I've viewed the thread you mentioned. I guess there's some misunderstandings in my part, I thought what the Description section in the .H file means is that it should be -0.33 no matter what (which is not consistent with the code)...my bad, kind of feeling stupid.

Anyway, thanks for answering and clarifying!
