Hi There,

I am a work it out as I go along foamer, so please go easy on me!

I have been trying to set up the simplest of cases

10m cube with all sides and floor as no slip walls and a zero gradient outlet using simpleFoam

but have been trying to set up the inlet using the new Improved atmospheric boundary layer conditions in V 1812 https://www.openfoam.com/releases/op...ary-conditions

Obviously I do have V1812 installed and running!

I am just copying and pasting the demo inlet conditions example from the link above, but just cannot run the case, it reads P and U then stops, no error, no anything.

There doesn't seem to be much information around about Atmospheric boundary inlets, and absolutely nothing on this new version, if anyone understands how to set it up and could point me in the right direction, I would be grateful.

Basically, I am trying to set up an external flow simulation with a graduated U speed and direction up the Z axis in order to simulate apparent wind (twist) over a moving object in real world atmospheric boundary layer

The domain needs to be at least 20m Z 20m x 60m Y

Thanks again!

There is (nearly) always information in the corresponding .H file about how to use a boundary condition. You can find it in the source code. There is also a simpleFoam tutorial that uses it : https://develop.openfoam.com/Develop.../turbineSiting.
