Hi everybody,
I am running into an issue with importing a mesh from Fluent into Openfoam where quadrilateral cells are getting changed into prisms instead of hex cells. I have attached three pictures that show the mesh in fluent, halfway through the process, and after I finish importing it to the correct format in OpenFOAM. Here is an overview of my process. This mesh is for a FSI code, so I need to have faceSet and corresponding faceZone on the edge of my '2D' mesh. 1. I make the mesh in Fluent and export it as a .msh file, in ASCII format. 2. I import the mesh with FluentMeshToFoam 3. I export the mesh with FoamMeshToFluent to preserve the mesh and get a third dimension. 4. I import the exported mesh with Fluent3DMeshToFoam Does anyone know why the fourth step would change my mesh from a nice Quad/hex dominant mesh to a mesh dominated by prisms? Is there anything I can do to post process this mesh and get it back to uniformly quad/hex? Thanks! |
