Hello to all, I need your help with my project case please.
For my dissertation work, I am trying to simulate and validate experimental results obtained for a submerged detached structure. For this work, I'm currently using OpenFOAM v1712 and Ubuntu 16.04. This simulation requires the creation of a base mesh that can represent the rectangular form of the wave tank that was used, and for that I use blockMesh. To implement the submerged structure and the beach profile, I created their 3D representations, which later was refined using surfaceFeatureExtract and snappyHexMesh. To make the simulation faster, extrudeMesh is used to make it with one cell in the y-axis. The depth of water for the most cases I'm trying to do is 0.6m, corresponding to the high tide level. These description and definitions can be seen in the Dict files attached to this email. For a 30 seconds simulation, the problems start to show up around the second 27, in which, some weird behaviour starts to occur. In the shared link there are also pictures of two consecutive moments of the simulation in which the alpha.water changes drastically to some unphysical behaviour. https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...1a?usp=sharing The compilation of this specific case consisted in the application of dictionaries from tutorials similar to my case. Even though, I've been trying to consider a lot of different scenarios, trying to change something in fvSchemes or fvSolution to try to make the simulation go smoother, but eventually it always crashes around the same time. I'm hoping to get some help from you. Thanks, Luís Fernandes |
