Does rotatingWallVelocity use the axis definition when the boundary is flat?

Hi all,
I have been using the rotatingWallVelocity boundary condition for one of the surfaces in my simulation. I have noticed that regardless of what direction I specify as the axis in the boundary condition definition, it seems to give the correct velocities on the surface, i.e. it seems like OpenFOAM is ignoring the axis condition and just predicting the correct direction. Is that possible? The surface is flat, and I have specified the origin, so specifying the axis is redundant, since it is just the surface normal to the flat boundary, I just want to double check and make sure I am right. Thanks! |

Probably what is happening is that is taking the parallel component of the radial velocity at this point of the wall. You can check it.
There is nos possible to have normal component of the velocity at the wall. Regards. |
