Hello all,
I need to model a multiphase thermocouled flow, which have at least two particle sizes and hot air, all of them inmersed on ambient air. I did a successful attemp using the two phase tutorial fluidization case. However, that model is limited to just one particle size. I would like to know if: 1. There is a multiphase-multiparticle solver available 2.- How can modify the reactingTwoPhaseEulerFoam/fluidized solver to be able to account for at least two particle sizes? Thanks, Gustavo Cordoba |

Hello Gustavo
1. Are the two particle sizes changing in time? 2. Is the volume fraction of the particles of each size changing in time? |

Hi, thanks for your answer.
Your questions: 1. Are the two particle sizes changing in time? No, neither the sizes nor the total amount of particles change in space and time (of course, if erosion/deposition of particles is not taken into account) 2. Is the volume fraction of the particles of each size changing in time? Yes, there is a change of such a volume fractions in space and time. *************** Thanks again, Gustavo |

Hi Gustavo,
I would suggest using twoPhaseEulerFoam/multiphaseEulerFoam (or a derivative solver) and create two phases with different diameters associated with them. Both these solvers have particle diameters built-in as well as certain models for drag, etc. Of course, I am assuming that you are fine with an Eulerian description of your system. Quote:
