potentialFoam Member Peter Join Date: Nov 2015 Location: Hamburg, Germany Posts: 57 Rep Power: 11	Dear Foamers, using the adaptive mesh refinement (AMR) tutorial for Foam version v1706 under Code: OpenFOAM-v1706/tutorials/multiphase/interDyMFoam/RAS/motorBike shows that it works for meshes which are not purely hexahedral - wow! A problem will occur if Code: renumberMesh is executed after the meshing procedure with snappyHexMesh: the cells which are not purely hexahedral will become protected from refinement. Before that (default tutorial settings), interDyMFoam announces: Code: Detected 535 cells that are protected from refinement. After renumberMesh, it tells us the following: Code: Detected 3647 cells that are protected from refinement. This error is pretty annoying because renumberMesh is a valuable utility and AMR also - but their combination doesn't work. Question: Do you have a workaround? Or was it fixed for v1712? (At least there are no issues containing 'renumberMesh' on https://develop.openfoam.com/Development/OpenFOAM-plus/issues )
