Hello,
I am reading OpenFoam tutorial and I don't understand mapFields. Guide says it maps fields from a case to another. tutorial has 2 cases cavityGrade and cavityFine. if I do cd $FOAM_RUN/cavityGrade mapFields ../cavityFine -consistent two cases have diffterent mesh geometry. Thank you. |

-consistent indicates 'source and target geometry and boundary conditions identical'. So no problem if mesh sizes are different. Actually the purpose of mapFields is to run a case on coarse mesh first and map the solution into finer mesh. It is also helpful in identifying grid independence study. If you want to know more about mapFields try typing mapFields -help in terminal window. Thank you |
