Hello!
I'm simulating a surface piercing propeller by using tutorial->MultiPhase->interPhaseChangeDyMFoam. I use a Mesh file (.msh) for the geometry of the propeller and I convert it to Foam format by using Fluent3DMeshToFoam. And I also disable propeller movement (commented all lines in DynamicMeshDict and write "dynamicFvMesh staticFvMesh"). But the solver still diverges. and the Courant number increase sharply but suddenly decrease sharply. I tried different methods but I didn't get any results. log.interPhaseChangeDyMFoam is attached.I would be grateful if you could help me.Thank you for taking this into consideration. Bests, Leila |

Quick answer: My guess is that the problem is the mesh itself has very small cells where the fluid is the fastest, hence this being part of the problem.
My suggestion is that you use yourself an isolate and conquer approach to solve this, otherwise someone else will have to do it for you. For example:
