Hi

Can anyone tell how verticalDamping in OF5 works. When I see the code it seems to add a source term of force to damp the U. The log files tells that the cells are selected on every nOuterCorrectors and nCorrectors iterations. This makes it very expensive.
I tried to compare two runs with and without vertical damping and turns out. Damping case is 1.2 times slower.

Hi Virag,
i also noticed this source term, do you know how verticalDamping works now? What I expected is to damp the perturbation at the outlet region. I am not sure if this source term works or not.
regards
