I wanted to simulate the fluid flow and heat transfer through double pipe heat exchanger. Hot water is flowing through the inner tube and cold water flowing through annulus.
Bc are as follows

Hot water inlet temp is 65 C and cold inlet temp is 30 C , mc is 0.1 kg per s and mh is 0.1 kg per sec . Pressure outlet for both the fluids. Please suggest me the appropriate solver for the above problem. Regards

Hello

what about the pipe? Do you need conjugate heat transfer too? Take a look into

https://github.com/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM...s/heatTransfer

The solver you will use depends on what you are going to simulate

thanks for the reply

how the algorithm changes if i take temp within the solid and fluid
if i take temp variation only in fluids.

any references on conjugate heat transfer

regards

Hello

if you consider conjugate heat flux, of course you have to solve the heat conduction inside the solid, and between solid and fluid. In the other case it is just the fluid equations. Take a look into the solvers I specified to see the differences in the algorithm.
