CubeRootVol filter in LESproperties

Does cubeRootVol filter in LES in OpenFOAM carries out SGS modelling :
If the length scales of eddies fall below the cube root of the volume of the local cell or If the length scales of eddies fall below the the cube root of the volume of the smallest cell in the entire mesh Can some one please clarify |
