Hello foamers,
I am running a simulation in openfoam for a flow over two 3d wings in order to see the corotating vortex behind the wings. I have made my mesh using snappyhexmesh and I have checkmesh it. I run with simple foam and spalartalmaras ddes but my solution doesn't converge. So I think the problem is with the boundaries conditions. I have four boundaries inlet outlet walls(the wind tunnel) and wings. For the walls I first used the symmetry boundary condition and then I used no slip conditions but in both cases I didn't have satisfactory results. Does anyone have an idea for the boundary condition I have to use?. Thank you very much in advance! Thodoris |

Hi teodm
I have a question for you is simplefoam capable of using LES type turbulence models? Cause I think simplefoam isn't transient solver! I think Pimplefoam is a suitable solver for your case. Sent from my iPhone using CFD Online Forum mobile app |

Hi Milad,
Thank you very much for your answer. I found it in the tutorials of airfoil2d I think, simplefoam along with LES |

I have also run with komega SST and spalart almaras but comparing the three results the sa-DDES are the ones closer to the experimental but still not as much close as i want to.That's why i think the problem has to be with the boundary conditions of the wind tunnel. If anyone could lead me to something it would be very helpful
