I have noticed similar issues to a previous post about high air velocity at the air/water interface in interFoam. In the Figure below the water surface is static (for testing) but there is still a significant air velocity along the water surface and up the right hand side. Is there any way to stabilize/minimize the air flow (without using solver mods). It seems to be causing some ripples at the water surface.

Can you give further details like boundary conditions, description fo the problem. Then I can help you

It seems to me an initialisation problem.
The cells faces may not be aligned with the initial interface level. Some methods are available, namely the funkySetFields tool of swak4foam. On the most complex cases I've also did a pre-initialisation of the water level using a very very high viscosity for the water, and then using the correct value after it's stabilised. |
