Dear all,
I am trying to simulate a single wind turbine blade (1/3 of the complete geometry) using simpleFoam (with MRFProperties file). At the moment the simulation is laminar, with fixedValue inlet velocity of 5m/s and zeroGradient pressure and an outlet pressure of 0. I am using cyclicAMI for periodicity. The blade should rotate at 12 rpm (omega = 12) but I am have issues getting it to converge (even for omega = 0). The residuals oscillate then the time step continuity errors blow up.I have tried several settings for the solver and schemes, as well as specifying omega = 0 to get a stable solution. In all cases the run diverges. I have also tried changing the boundary conditions and the mesh. checkMesh showed no errors with the mesh. I have attached the log files for simpleFoam, snappyHexMesh and checkMesh for your reference, as well as my fvSolution and fvSchemes files. The dropbox link to the complete case setup is below https://www.dropbox.com/sh/iio2zzzt7...Yx8r3gA2a?dl=0 The attached pic shows my domain (green=inlet, red=outlet, blue = cyclicAMI). I greatly appreciate any and all help with this problem! Thanks!! Sohail checkMesh.txt fvSchemes.txt fvSolution.txt simpleFoam.txt domain.png |
