Dear Foamers

We would like to simulate the snow piling up around a building, in order to determine critical corners and test improvements to reduce local build-up.

I am however completely new to multi-phase flow. I am trying to find a tutorial to get me started, but don't find an appropriate one.
I did find the report from Jan Potac at Chalmers using twophaseeulerfoam, but this report also doesn't seem to provide a final solution and reports problems with snow not piling up, but drifting on.

If we don't get a two-phase simulation up and running, is it possible to do a steady-state wind simulation and try to predict qualitatively in Paraview through particle tracking which areas are critical?

Could anyway put me on the right path regarding tutorials, solvers or further reading material?

Thanks!

Sarah

akidess will become famous soon enough
You do not want to begin with a multiphase simulation, especially if you are new to OpenFOAM and multiphase flow. Start with a stationary wind simulation and do lagrangian particle tracking to see where the particles stick.
