Hi all,

I'm modelling a 2D (Plane stress) cantiliver beam in OpenFOAM with a rigid appendix, loaded with an end point load.
My problem is insert the rigid appendix at the end. Because I tried using a multiMaterial property with high Elastic modulus for the rigid part, but this is very expensive from a computational point of view.
So... How can I do it?
Now I'm using stressFoam, but every OpenFOAM structural solver is ok for me.

Thanks.

Is there something you are don't understanding?

Please help me... it takes more than one day to resolve, but is a slightly coarse mesh!
