Dear Foamers,
Currently I switched to OF1606+ to use interCondensatingEvaporatingFoam. Unfortunatelly I encountered some problem, which I can not solve. It seems there is some problem with a restart of calculations for some later time. Calculations crushes after several time steps... It seem to be only the restar problem, becasue having e.g. calculations done for times, 1, 2, 3, if you want to restart, lets say form 2, it will crush after few time steps, even thoug, it was calculated up to 3 without any problem... Did any one of you experienced a similar problem ? best ZMM |

Yes there are threads about it if you search. We are just speculating but no one knows for sure why it happens.

Dear Arjun,
I could not find any post relating to this situation related to interCondensatingEvaporatingFoam from OF1606+. Could you provide me with some link? I was doing some investigation of this problem, and I found out, that if the e equation is disabled (just by commenting it in the source code), then the calculations can restart. Same, if all the fields are "calculated", but not alpha.liquid (this one is initialized same as at the folder 0 -- as uniform, resulting is uniform rho), then calculations can be restarted as well. Summing up, calulcations cen be restarted from old U and p_rgh. Further analysis revealed that "T" field could not be written well on disc. I need to check it more carefully. Anyway, it seems that the problem is somehow related to e equation or the twoPhaseEModel. best ZMM |
