Hello everyone,
i'm modelling a flow between two plates which are defined as wall-BC's. To save comp. resources i want to split my model at half channel height (red line), and only model the lower half. The lower boundary remains to be a wall-BC. I don't want any influence on the flow at the upper boundary. Untill now i use a slip-BC for my upper boundary which now lies at 1 µm. That works fine, i'd say. Q1: Would it be a better solution to use the symmetryPlane BC here as i would expect the, now missing, upper half of the flow being a mirror image of the lower part? Same basic case (2 µm height): I lower my upper boundary (red line) to ~ 0.2 µm to only model the part of the flow close to the wall. Q2: Do i use the slip-BC or the symmetry-BC (the missing part of the model would now be more than 50%). Thanks for your answers, Robert |
