Hello Foamers,
I am currently running a simulation with rhoSimplecFoam for a complex geometry and a highly turbulent flow. To get the simulation running, a had to decrease the RF for pressure down to 0.1 and for rho down to 0.01. The Simulation was very unstable during the 100 first Iterations. Now the Global continuity is stable and the residuals are not randomly swinging around anymore. Now, the problem is that the residuals are not decreasing at all. For example, p is constantly swinging around 10^-1 as if it had converged. Same for other variables around smaller values. I was wondering if it had something to do with the very small relaxation factors that I am using for p and especially rho. How is the density able to adapt to the other values? The BC seem to be O.K. Cheers, Charles |
