Dear all,

I'm about to start some simulations under LES and would appreciate any help, hints, comments, suggestions you may share with me.

My experience in turbulence is (U)RANS, kwSST or kepsilon depending on the problem to study.

Now, I'm going to jump to LES, more specifically IDDES in OpenFOAM2.4.0

I have read that the IDDES models in OF uses SpallartAlmaras for near-wall region. Right now, I'm running my cases with kwSST to prepare a turbulent solution as the starting point for the next IDDES simulations.

>>> I think this is ok since one of the output from kw will be 'nut', closure equation for SA. Am I right?

>>> You may ask: Why am I using kwSST if I will be using next IDDES with SA? well, my geometry is a sphere, so no sharp corners where the boundary layer will detach.

thanks in advance!
