Hi,

This is one of the first time i am using openfoam multiphase flow. I have a tank with oil upto a level and i wanted to simulate a flow of air from inlet to outlet. I am using dambreak ran interfoam solver as a base and working from there. However, for some reason i cant get a solution as the Openfoam solver gives me fatal error and exiting .
this is the error that i obtain

Foam::error:: PrintStack(Foam::Ostream&) at ??:?
#1 Foam::sigFpe::sigHandler(int) at ??:?
#2 ? in "/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6"
#3 Foam::divide(Foam::Field<double>&, Foam::UList<double> const&, Foam::UList<double> const&) at ??:?
#4 Foam::tmp<Foam::GeometricField<double, Foam::fvPatchField, Foam::volMesh> > Foam:perator/<Foam::fvPatchField, Foam::volMesh>(Foam::tmp<Foam::GeometricField<doub le, Foam::fvPatchField, Foam::volMesh> > const&, Foam::GeometricField<double, Foam::fvPatchField, Foam::volMesh> const&) at ??:?
#5 Foam::RASModels::kEpsilon<Foam::IncompressibleTurb ulenceModel<Foam::transportModel> >::correct() at ??:?
#6 ? at ??:?
#7 __libc_start_main in "/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6"
#8 ? at ??:?
Floating point exception (core dumped)

I cant solve this problem at all so can somebody give me some guidelines?

thanks

Hi,

guess you changed the solver and at some point you are dividing a variable with 0 {floating point error}.

Please check the initialisation of gamma (phase fraction), boundary conditions- you used in the simulations.

Cheers,
Shakil
