Hallo,
I'm running an interFoam case of a plunger valve. Now I want to transform the case into a dynamic mesh case (interDyFoam) so that the plunger moves.
I have never worked with dynamic meshes and all die different mesh-manipulation models, solvers and diffusivity models confuse me.

Does someone have a simple tutorial of a dynamic mesh case basically created with blockMesh and snappyHexMesh?
Maybe a hint which configurations I need?

Thanks - Max

Quick answer: OpenFOAM has at least tutorial case that fits your description: "incompressible/pimpleDyMFoam/movingCone"
My advice: run this tutorial case with the command:
Code:
foamRunTutorials
Then open the case in ParaView with paraFoam. See what the results and case look like, because from there you will start to imagine what you need to look for in this case.

I have been running this tutorial but there is no meshModifier in this tutorial. I need the movement of the plunger and have layer addition/removal.

I am working with OF 2.3.0 and I can't find a tutorial which includes layer addition/removal. Where can I find such a case?

Quick answer: Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be an example for this yet for OpenFOAM. There are a few attempts made and/or it should work on foam-extend:
