Hallo,
I'm running an interFoam case of a plunger valve. Now I want to transform the case into a dynamic mesh case (interDyFoam) so that the plunger moves. I have never worked with dynamic meshes and all die different mesh-manipulation models, solvers and diffusivity models confuse me. Does someone have a simple tutorial of a dynamic mesh case basically created with blockMesh and snappyHexMesh? Maybe a hint which configurations I need? Thanks - Max |

Quick answer: OpenFOAM has at least tutorial case that fits your description: "incompressible/pimpleDyMFoam/movingCone"
My advice: run this tutorial case with the command: Code:
foamRunTutorials

I have been running this tutorial but there is no meshModifier in this tutorial. I need the movement of the plunger and have layer addition/removal.
I am working with OF 2.3.0 and I can't find a tutorial which includes layer addition/removal. Where can I find such a case? |

Quick answer: Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be an example for this yet for OpenFOAM. There are a few attempts made and/or it should work on foam-extend:
