I am new to OpenFoam and am trying to run a range of examples.
I found the WigleyHull example, which appears to be created in version 2.1.0. I am failing to install this version, as I have installed Ubuntu v14.04. The example appears to be related to an older Ubuntu version. In trying to run this example, I receive the following error message: " --> FOAM FATAL ERROR: request for volScalarField alpha1 from objectRegistry region0 failed available objects of type volScalarField are 20 ( rSubDeltaT alpha.water_0 interfaceProperties:K nut alpha.water rho k p_rgh nu gh nu1 rDeltaT p rho_0 nu2 alpha.air k_0 omega omega_0 y ) " Can anyone help me out here? What do I need to add/change to get this example to run? Many thanks in advance. |

you seem to run a newer OF version. Naming scheme for phase properties has changed in 2.3.0 (see here). But there is a newer (and imho better) hull resistance tutorial case (called DTCHull), also featuring dynamic trim and sinkage. Maybe you try this one..?
