Hi all,
I am doing a very simple simulation, using my stl and simpleFoam solver I wanted to simulate a flow in a pipe. The stl mesh of a pipe is a result of marching cubes algorithm (surface estimated from the image data - not created in a cad software). I've run the simulation, exactly the same case, in OpenFoam 2.3.0 and in OpenFOAM 2.4.0 and to my suprise the result is different. In OF 2.3.0 one can notice some strange parts of the flow. Beneath I attach the image of the cut through the volume mesh and velocity field in OF 2.3.0 and OF 2.4.0 vm: http://imageshack.com/a/img538/1106/312IB7.png velocity, of 230: http://imageshack.com/a/img661/5931/Z2ModK.png velocity, of 240: http://imageshack.com/a/img673/4079/npMu8z.png I marked the suspicious parts in the of 230 velocity imaged with red circles. Beneath I share a link to the Dropbox folder with the whole case setting. There is also a "logs" folder inside which helds logs for all the applications (surfaceCheck, checkMesh and so on): of230: https://www.dropbox.com/s/cnyqwjw97s...of230.zip?dl=0 of240 https://www.dropbox.com/s/nnm4nzh5z3...of240.zip?dl=0 If anyone has any ideas, I would be very thankful for your help. Best, Olgierd |
