Hi All

Not entirely sure where this thread belongs ....

I define a pair of cyclicAMI boundarys primarily as I am sticking two meshes together where stichMesh refuses to work. The cyclicAMI pair is basically used to transfer information between two identical surfaces on two meshes but with non-matching cell-faces. Let's say one face has triangular and the other rectangular cell faces, but the two surfaces are otherwise congruent.

So for my basic fluid flow calculation this works fine. However, I solve an additional equation BUT for this equation the two cyclicAMI boundaries need to have separate fixed values for argument's sake and I thus do not want the boundaries to act as cyclicAMI boundaries.

Of course I define this pair as cyclicAMI in the boundary file in the "constant" directory. Severe complaints and misgivings are communicated by the solver should I dare to change these boundaries in the appropriate variable file to fixedValue or anything else.

I have tried some rather silly strategies (two boundary names for the same group of cell faces etc) but with no success, I have wondered if somebody has had a similar requirement.

Did you try a mapped boundary condition ? It can act as an AMI BC but you can assign other BC (for example fixedValue). You can find example in tutorials/pisoFoam/les/pitzDailyMaped.
