The error message seems to be clear enough that a "nan" value has been read from a file. As for what "nan" means: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NaN

This error arises in non-MPI problems as well and the reducing the deltaT in controlDict seems to resolve the issue. I learned this from here.
