Hi, I've tried running the kivatest tutorial in engineFoam. The combustion process barely starts before the simulation ends though.
It uses Allrun (don't really understand why, perhaps someone would enlighten me) with two dictionary files rather than one. I tried to change the dictionary files in each one to make the simulation last longer, changing controlDict.1st to 'endTime 180' and controlDict.2nd 'startTime 180, endTime 360' - but it seems to finish even before Top Dead Centre now. I don't understand why the total number of degrees of revolution would be even less than before. Why might that be? Any explanation much appreciated. Mike Hersee |

hi MikeHersee,
I think since kivaTest doesn't have entrance and exhaust process , it works between -180(BDC) and 0 (TDC) then +180(BDC). when you chose 180 to 360, it means start from BDC to TDC. |
