Haukeland is on a distinguished road
In conjunction with my masters thesis I am a concerned with a squeeze flow problem (squeeze film damping of a SDOF system). I am going to do an analytical solution for a plate vibrating in normal motion in close proximity to a fixed plane solving reynolds equations.

To validate my results i have two choices:
1 - physical testing
2 - CFD simulation

I am fairly competent in fluid dynamics, but have no experience with OpenFoam nor any other CFD tools. In that case I am seeking some guidance to understand the difficulty of solving the problem shown below. Reason why I am asking is that I donīt want to spend several weeks learning (by my self) without getting any results.

Problem description (link to picture):

Thanks in advance for any opinions and guidance.
