Hello All,
I am trying to solve a problem, my geometry has two parallel plates. With bottom plate as fixed and top plate is moving plate. With applied force and angular velocity it pushes the top plate downwards until it reaches a gap width of 1mm. What i dont understand is how can i define fluid in between the two plates, here there is no inlet or outlet fluid has to be defined in between the two plates. My questions are: 1.How can i define angular velocity for the top plate. 2.How can i define no slip boundary conditions between the two plates. 3. Which solver I can use > ? I am new to openFoam and trying to learn, any help is appreciated. Thank you for your help in advance. Attached is my geometry. |

Hello,
1) You can use "rotatingWallVelocity" as boundary condition for U at the upper wall to apply a angular velocity at the wall. 2) Using a fixedValue boundary condition for the lower wall with a value of (0 0 0) and point 1) will result in no-slip boundaries. 3) If you are planing on using a dynamic mesh for handling the movement of the plates, you could use pimpleDyMFoam as a solver.
